It was quite a wrench, therefore, when my father decided life would be better for us in Canada. So, in January 1957 we left our relations and friends behind, enduring a seven-day rough passage to St John's, New Brunswick on The Empress of Britain. Eventually, we settled in a town called Richelieu in the province of Quebec. I completed High School, went on to secretarial college in Montreal, and then found a position in The Royal Trust Company where I met my husband. Due to Provincial political unrest, at the suggestion of an Australian friend we applied and were accepted as part of the immigration scheme to Australia becoming known as 'Ten Pound Poms'. Leaving family in Canada and England, we arrived with our little son in May 1970 and later became Australian Citizens. We have two sons, a daughter and 5 grandchildren.
Writing Experience.
In the 70's there was no social media so I wrote letters and more letters to relatives and friends. My Aunty May wrote her reply in poetry form - probably why I enjoy creating simple poems. I completed a course with The Writing School, a couple of small ones covering children's books and poetry as well as nearly two years entering "Challenges" in Faithwriters. Several years ago my husband and I performed original puppet plays at several Aged Care Facilities in the area.
My first book An Untouchable's Journey to Love was published via KDP with the help of Christian Book Academy (while a member), my editor Katie Erickson and encouragement from Accountability Partners Lisa and Lucille as well as family and friends.
My second book I Didn't Realize......, has also been published! See my Books page for more info!
When not writing I enjoy reading, gardening, keeping fit, classic movies and occasional cross-stitch
.
